Market Season To Begin
The Gunnison Farmers Market begins on June 23 and takes place
on Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.. The market is located
on Main and Virginia,
conveniently located right in the heart of Gunnison's historic Main
Street, with excellent restaurants and enticing shopping all around.
Beginning October 13 through November 3, the market moves indoors
to the Fred
Field Heritage Center
located at 275 S. Spruce St
(a few blocks south of Safeway).
There will be a wide variety of vendors selling fresh fruits and
vegetables, baked goods, meat, eggs, yogurt, cheese, wine, granola,
crafts and more! The majority of the produce is from the North Fork
Valley, just on the other side of the West Elks, but there will
be a handful of local vendors offering some of the finest, tastiest,
Gunnison grown food.
Live enterainment will be featured each week along with kids activities
and cooking demos. The market is the perfect place to breakfast
dine with a hot cup of chai tea from Mt.Ovens or a fresh pastry
from Fresh Breads and Pastries. Lunch has plenty of options too
-- wood fired pizza (Innerfire Mobile), all natural brats (Lucky
Dog's), or a local burger (Parker Pastures).
Each week's Farmers Market is an exciting event! Perhaps you'd
like to join the crew of volunteers who put it on; if so, drop
us a line. Or maybe you'd like to sell your produce, food, or
wares at the market - in that case, check out our vendor
information page for a 2012 vendor application.
Whether you come as a customer, a vendor, a volunteer or all three(!),
we know that you'll enjoy the sights, sounds, smells, and general
good times at the Gunnison Farmers Market. We're looking forward
to seeing old friends and making new ones. |
